Ikebana International -- Buffalo Chapter #50

Ikebana International

Ikebana International was founded in 1956 as a way to promote mutual understanding and friendship between countries through ikebana (the art of Japanese flower arrangement). The non-profit cultural organization is comprised of over 165 separate chapters made up of people of many nationalities who enjoy ikebana and other arts of Japan.

Buffalo Chapter #50

With the motto "Friendship through Flowers", the Buffalo Chapter #50 was established in 1960 by Helen Cottrell and Edna La Duca with a mission to stimulate, cultivate, and perpetuate the study of ikebana, related arts and culture throughout Buffalo. Today the Chapter is very active conducting workshops and lectures.
