The Friends of the Japanese Garden of Buffalo is a group with a mission to spread awareness about the Japanese Garden of Buffalo and to promote the message of peace and friendship upon which the Garden was originally established. We organize and sponsor community events to build a financial support for the Garden through the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, which cares for the Garden's daily needs.

Buffalo-Kanazawa Sister City Committee
In December 1962 the city of Buffalo joined the United States' Sister City International initiative by connecting with our first sister city, Kanazawa, Japan. Over the years Kanazawa and Buffalo have established a wonderful history of sharing resources. In 1996, Kanazawa was largely responsible for the major renovations to the Japanese Garden of Buffalo providing us with trees, shrubs, paths and the unique stone lanterns.
